Mr. Sander is a cofounder of SightSound Technologies, serving as President and Chief Executive Officer. SightSound Technologies pioneered unique ways to serve the recorded music and movie industries through application of its proprietary technologies. SightSound Technologies created a patent portfolio consisting of 21 domestic and international patents in the fields of audio/video eCommerce, audio/video compression and applied encryption. The SightSound Patent Portfolio consists of an additional 15 patents that have been granted by the European Patent Office for issuance in Europe, and also includes patent applications filed in the field of trusted peer-to-peer file sharing networks.

Under Mr. Sander’s leadership, SightSound Technologies achieved many historic firsts. SightSound Technologies was first to electronically sell a music download via the Internet in 1995; electronically sell a movie download via the Internet in April 1999; produce a motion picture specifically for simultaneous electronic distribution worldwide via the Internet in May 2000; develop a legal system to sell encrypted movies through file-sharing networks in June 2000; develop a legal system to sell encrypted music through the Napster music file sharing network in November 2000; electronically sell a movie into a movie theater projection booth via the Internet for digital exhibition in March 2001; and electronically sell a movie into a Compaq iPac handheld PocketPC in May 2001. In addition to his work in elecronic distribution, in late 1999 Mr. Sander turned his attentioin to elecronic production and was credited as the Executive Producer on the all digital production of Quantum Project, the first movie created exclusively for worldwide Internet distribution and staring Stephen Dorff, Fay Masterson and John Cleese. SightSound Technologies premiered Quantum Project worldwide on the Internet on May 5th, 2000.

Mr. Sander has participated in roundtable discussions at the Patent and Trademark Office and at the Department of Commerce, has provided testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, and has spoken on numerous industry panels denouncing Internet piracy of movies and music, affirming the value of intellectual property, and advocating the future of legal digital distribution. Mr. Sander graduated from the University of Denver in 1982 with a degree in business administration.
